The classic Kiwi dip

Kiwi dip aka the classic kiwi dip, kiwi onion dip, onion dip or simply just ‘dip’.

Growing up in New Zealand, one of the most popular dishes at any party is always ‘onion dip’. It goes great with chips or carrot and celery sticks and is super easy to make.

This recipe could come from anyone and everyone and it’s almost impossible to ruin.Don’t ask me why it’s so delicious because it just is.

So the recipe..
In a small bowl, add one 280g tin of reduced cream and one sachet of maggi onion soup. Add one teaspoon of white vinegar or lemon juice and stir to combine.
Cover and chill for 30 minutes to set and serve.
That’s it. Quick and easy.

Honestly, I’m not sure if it keeps etc because it never lasts that long. I’ve had this made with other dried soup flavours like seafood and tomato but it’s just not as good.

There may be a few of you from other countries who think this is a bit odd and it probably is. For me, I just don’t like pre-made brought dips as much but would love to hear any alternatives or your homemade dip recipes.

Enjoy!
